“I am really grateful that WCTS exists. The counselling helped me significantly and I wouldn't have been able to afford a private counsellor”

Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service (WCTS) offers a low-cost accessible counselling and psychotherapy service for Leeds women on low incomes. Learn about our services here.

Our women only support can help with moderate or severe mental health difficulties including anxiety and depression as well as issues such as panic attacks, relationship difficulties, eating disorders or bereavement. We work with each individual woman to understand what you are looking for from the service. Many women come to the service with experiences of low self esteem, childhood sexual abuse or other painful childhood experiences, or with experience of domestic abuse. Our work can provide a positive impact on many parts of life such as daily living, relationships, social inclusion, work and parenting. Women typically stay in counselling for nine months: although some come for a short focused period, others stay for up to two years. See our latest Impact Report 2014-2015
