Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service is an award winning organisation providing long term individual and group therapy to disadvantaged women who wouldn’t otherwise be able to access therapy. We believe in a world where all women and girls enjoy good mental health and flourish.

We are currently recruiting for:

Counsellors / Psychotherapists (4) – Perinatal team and 8-16 session team

Are you exceptional and looking to make a difference to the lives of marginalised women? If so, we are looking for you to join our friendly and supportive team. These posts offer the opportunity to provide therapy for women who

22.5 – 35 hours per week (Negotiable, to include Wednesday morning, Friday and one early evening to 7pm). Based at Portland Street LS1 3DR, and working from community venues in Leeds.

Salary £28,361 – £39,921 (pro rata) depending on skills, experience and training plus 5% employer pension contribution.

Higher salary (up to £46,728) may be available for a candidate with specific qualifications / experience e.g. Parent Infant Psychotherapy.

We offer regular external clinical supervision, reflective practice groups, peer support and a generous individual training budget for professional development.

Applications are invited from qualified female counsellors or psychotherapists who are accredited (BACP, UKCP, BPS or HCPC) or eligible for accreditation, with a minimum of 450 client hours. If you have fewer client hours and extensive experience of working in a mental health or perinatal role please contact us for an informal discussion.

Board of Trustees – new members

Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service (WCTS) is the specialist women and girls mental health charity in Leeds. Our mission is to work with vulnerable women and girls who experience significant mental health difficulties; providing accessible therapeutic services that offer brief medium and long term relationship and result in valued and sustainable change.

Trustees play a critical part in this highly regarded, specialist charity. As we celebrate 40 years of services and move into the next stage of development we are seeking to strengthen the Board adding two or three new trustees to our current complement of eight.

We are looking for women with a passion for mental health or living in / working with communities experiencing deprivation. We are particularly interested in hearing from women with experience of managing events or with a legal or charity background, alongside those with experience in the counselling and therapy field especially of long term work as practitioners and or clients.

We especially invite young women to consider this opportunity (that is under 30 years old as this age group is currently under represented on the Board).
